Clair and Antoine Captier with THE wooden baluster from Saunière's Church at Rennes-le-Chateau.
The piece of wood Antoine is holding is the door to the secret compartment where his grandfather, during Sauniere's renovations of the church, found a small glass vial containing a piece of parchment. This would have been placed there by Bigou, a former priest of the Mary Magdalene Church, before he fled from the revolution to Spain, he never returned. It is believed it was the message on this parchment that started Sauniere on his road to riches.
